High Five

Big News, my baby isn't a baby anymore. Sarah turned 5 today. It's true. Scott and I have been full blown - responsible (most of the time) parents for half a decade. We can't believe we have a 5 year old. It has been a wild ride. With kindergarten just around the corner, the real adventures are only just beginning. That's enough of my parenting rambles...back to the matter at hand.

Sarah is now 5. True to form, she has been celebrating for days. Monday, Scott had off work for MLK day (not me though). So Sarah and Daddy went on a special date - bowling and dinner at Red Robin. By Sarah's measure (and Daddy's too) it was a 5 star evening.

Then yesterday was, of course, Snow-Bama Day. That was one giant celebration that Sarah deemed an early birthday gift.

Today started with a pinata at school, followed by a Hello Kitty Cake at home, and topped off with gift opening madness (thanks to Nana, Mimi, Poppa, Auntie Em, Aunt Pam, Aunt Glenda, Great Papa Bob, and Great-Grandmother & Granddaddy Harrell). How can we ever thank you enough!!! We have some really great family. Scott and I may have thrown in a couple of goodies, too - but we aren't quite sure. The girls were jacked up on sugar and wrapping paper. Let's just say bed time didn't come easy. In fact, I still hear Jaley bouncing around (it's 10:15PM). But there are worse things, birthdays only come around once a year.

And so you don't think that we missed anything in this celebration extravaganza, Sarah is taking a couple of friends bowling this coming Saturday, so that she can celebrate with kids her own age.

Now that is a birthday celebration!!! And speaking of b-day's, we send a shout out to Mimi. She is turning ??? on Saturday - we hope her party lasts a week, just like Sarah's.

That is life in the stroller lane. Lots of love.
