Between the holidays and birthdays, we always have reason to celebrate around here. Last week was no exception. It was Sarah's birthday. It can't believe she is six. Especially since I was 29 when she was born and according to my measures, I'm still 29. Despite my own dreams of 20-something, it is truly hard to believe six years have passed.
As is tradition, we celebrated most of the week. We enjoyed cake and presents on her actual birthday at home. On Friday, I surprised her as the "mystery reader" and with cupcakes at school. On Saturday, there was her birthday party. Drawing from Sarah's love of science (or is that my and Scott's love of science?) we hosted her party at Wonders of Science. The kids did some pretty neat experiments. Think back to your days in the school science fair and you'll have an idea of what was on the agenda. Things like dry ice and the old vinegar and baking soda volcano were crowd pleasers.
By the time Sunday rolled around I was exhausted. Forget trying to party like a college student, I can't even party like a 6-year old. I guess I'm definitely not in my 20's anymore.
And last week wasn't only Sarah's birthday, it was Mimi's too. Here's a shout out to Jan with belated birthday wishes. Next up, Scott. He is turning 29 again next week. Like I said we always have a reason to celebrate.
That's life in the stroller lane. Lots of Love.
