It is hard to believe, but my "baby" is now seven. Sarah turned 7 on Friday and we did our best to make it lucky #7. Scott surprised Sarah and was the mystery reader for her class. While he did read some books to the class, he also arrived with a cookie cake and cupcakes - ensuring that the entire class was sugared up.
He swung by and grabbed Jaley and Mick and met me at the mall. That was when the fun really began. Sarah's big gift was getting her ears pierced. She has been asking us for 2 years - daddy finally caved. Rumor has it that Poppa made made Auntie Em wait until she was much, much older - so I guess Scott is a softy.
After a lot of time picking the right earrings and little time actually piercing her ears - Sarah passed another giant milestone (at least for girls). Next we were off to dinner and dessert. And what did the big 7 year old choose for dessert - Cheesecake Factory. Scott, Nana, and I were thrilled with that choice.
Today, we continued celebrating with a day of fun. It was the family and one friend (unfortunately another friend was sick today). First up, Marbles Kids Museum. I'm not sure who had the most fun - but it very well may have been Mick. He had a ball. Next up was lunch. Followed by painting pottery at Paint Your Pot. And topped off with GIANT ice cream sundaes at Baskin Robbins. The girls will be on a sugar high until Sarah turns 8.
We came home and I collapsed. It turns out partying with 7 year olds is tiring.
That is life in the stroller lane.
