Why is getting kids to eat a healthy meal so darn difficult? Kids need food to live, so feeding them should be relatively easy. But NO, it is a battlefield. A war that doesn't end until... Well I don't know when it ends, because I'm still in the trenches.
This week, I learned that one child doesn't like to eat gummy vitamins. How do I know this? I found a week's supply of vitamins hidden in the back of a closet.
I learned that another child only likes the marshmallow charms in Lucky Charms cereal. How do I know this? I found handfuls of cereal (no marshmallows) thrown under the kitchen table.
I learned that another child has an affinity for mid-night snacking. How do I know this? I found the offender getting snacks from the kitchen long after I went to bed.
Don't get me started on table manners. It is a sad, sad story. Fortunately, the Queen of England hasn't invited us to dinner and Chick-Fil-A doesn't care if elbows are on the table.
I won't provide names, since all of the offenders are minors - instead I'll leave you to guess.
That is life in the stroller lane.
