Usually the younger classmates in nursing school can run circles around me. They pull all an nighter and look great the next day. They have the energy to head to the gym after a 12-hr shift. They can up headache free after an indulgent Friday night. I fully accept that my 20's were a long time ago.
Every once in a while age and motherhood have their privileges. This semester is one of those times. The big classes of the semester are pediatrics and pregnancy. I already know about croup and ear infections and well baby visits. After waddling my way through three pregnancies, I know a bit about about labor and delivery, too.
I may have some grey hair and I may have some wrinkles, but I also have some experience as Dr. Mom. With a little luck, that experience will make this an easier semester. At least that is what I'm hoping.
That is life in the stroller lane.
